Internet Tools

One internet tool in which I will use and make sure my students utilize also is the Google apps. Google has so many great apps, but I will only name some which I have find to be extremely helpful for both educators and learners. For those students who do not have MS Office, I will recommend them to use Google docs. This is a great word application to use because it automatically saves your work online and you can download it to the many word formats that are out there. Another google app I really like is the Google drive. I will use google drive to save files that are too large to send on email and then share it with my students so they can also access them through google drive. Google has many more apps that are great but I will only name those two. Another internet tool I like is the Prezi. This is a great way to do a presentation. I know Microsoft has powerpoint but Prezi is very simple and can add so many other options to a presentation. TeacherTube is another great internet tool I have gone over and the reason why I think it’s a great tool is because it’s already filtered out with videos specifically for educational purposes. Zoom will be a tool that I will also use on my online classroom when meetings or lectures has to be done with the students. I have used this tool for a while so I’m very familiar with it.

Wix is a platform which is commonly used by many to create websites.   Currently, Wix has over 200 million users across 190 countries worldwide.   This internet tool is very popular due to how extremely easy it makes for a beginner to create a professional looking website.   In the past, you have to hire a professional with coding skills to create a top-of-the-line website that would cost a lot of money.   Nowadays, any person with no skills in website-building can use this platform to create a webpage. Another great reason to use this web-building tool is because it has training videos which you can skim through to learn how to use the web-building platform.   There are also many templates pre-made installed on the website so you can go through the many build-in templates in the website to quickly create your websites. One catch about the platform is you have to pay for it.   It has different monthly payments depending on what you want access to in ...

Internet Tool#2: Read, Write, Think

ReadWriteThink is a website which has many types of resources both for teachers and learners. This interactive resource site allows the students to independently complete the interactive tools; whether it be a timeline or bio cube. This tool allows students the freedom to enter and edit information in an interactive format making the students more apt and excited about using the resources. The tools within the site, seem to be specifically created to adapt to lessons teachers often implement. The site has updated several of the tools that are often used with students for ease in use and better application. The site includes lesson plans, worksheets, categorized links to communication, searchable content, and more. The site also has a video section where both teachers and students can find literacy resource which are fun and educational. There is so much information included on this website that it is a little overwhelming, but for a free resource there is so much potential for le...
